Per l’edizione 2024 CRACK! ANIMALE, Fortepressa chiama a una raccolta di manifesti che esplodano, articolino, discutano il tema di quest’anno. Un’invito che coinvolge un primo gruppo di 24 artist3 presenti al festival- dando inizio ad un dialogo visivo, una conversazione senza parole.

ANIMALE non è un bestiario fantastico, ma una categoria che disgiunge, seziona e umilia.
E’ il termine necessario a stabilire un valore – l’umanità – per contrasto con un disvalore – la bestialità.
Un fuori, affinché possa esistere un dentro.
Un ascensore per l’inferno che non viaggia soltanto – né a senso unico – tra le specie di viventi, ma prosegue il suo progetto di segregazione dicotomica anche all’interno delle specie stesse. Animali-umani e animali umanizzati.

ANIMALE tuttavia, è anche la condizione che più profondamente ci accomuna, come esseri viventi, al tutto esistente. La base di una cura reciproca, del diritto alla condivisione, all’empatia fino anche al lutto quando una o tutte queste condizioni dell’esistenza vengono ferite, massacrate o negate.

ELEVATOR 24 racchiude gli esiti di questa proposta.

For the 2024 edition CRACK! ANIMAL, Fortepressa calls for a collection of posters that explode, write articles and discuss this year’s theme. An invitation that involves a first group of 24 artists3 present at the festival – starting a visual dialogue, a conversation without words.

ANIMALE is not a fantastical beastarium, but a category that disjuncts, dissects and humiliates.
It is the term necessary to establish a value – humanity – by contrast with a disvalue – bestiality.
An outside so that an inside can exist.
An elevator to hell that travels not only – nor one-way – between species of living beings, but also pursues its project of dichotomous segregation even within species themselves. Animals-humans and humanized animals.

ANIMAL however, is also the condition that most deeply unites us, as living beings, to the existing whole. The basis of mutual care, of the right to share, to empathize to even mourn when one or all of these conditions of existence are wounded, slaughtered or denied.

ELEVATOR 24 gathers the outcomes of this proposal.
